A public hearing will be held Dec. 7th at the Allegan Township Hall 7:30 pm to consider the option of Allegan Township purchasing the East End property. The project would be possible with help from a DNR Grant to preserve the land and make a nature park.

As you likely know, we received a very large amount of rain in the last few days. As such, the lake has risen more than a foot. The extra water presents the potential for damage to shoreline, docks an other property.

The Allegan County Drain Commissioner's Office is responsible for controlling the level of the outlet dam on Miner Lake. IN the fall they remove 1 foot (height) of dam and in the spring replace that same amount.
Historically they would remove or add all 4 sections with 1 visit.
